Harry Warren, Valerie W. Stephenson

Chattanooga Choo Choo

You can feel the train pull out of the station as Stephenson's opening whole note chords break into half notes and then move into quarter notes, picking up speed with eighth notes until you hear the familiar strain of 'Pardon me, boy, is that the Chattanooga Choo Choo?' The excitement, momentum and speed of Harry Warren's popular tune are all found in this fabulous arrangement, with its syncopated rhythm and mart lifts. More advanced choirs might want to perform this in 'swing' style, lending an even more authentic 'ring' to the performance.
