Drumset Attack!

Drumset Attack! brings together ten varied solo pieces for intermediate drumset players. The pieces are suitable for concerts, examinations and competitions, combining clear grooves, structured forms and flowing musical phrases. Each solo can be performed as a complete piece or used as a building block for creating a personal solo. Different sections can be combined flexibly, while improvisation passages provide space for individual musical ideas. Stylistically, the collection ranges from Latin elements such as Songo, Mambo and Samba to funky grooves, Swing and Jazz. Distinctive phrases and dynamic contrasts develop timing, coordination and musical expression. Two pieces also incorporate double bass technique, providing additional technical challenges. The tenth solo, Tropical Drummin' Man, demonstrates how different solo sections can be combined to create an individual and effective piece. "Drumset Attack!" therefore offers versatile material for lessons, practice and performance. Wishing you lots of enjoyment, inspiration and fun while practising, improvising and making music, Gerhard Bergauer.
