Description:
This collection combines drumset and timpani in an effective duet setting. While the drumset provides the rhythmic foundation with standard grooves, the timpani take on a kind of bass function. Unison passages, short solos and fills add variety and make the pieces enjoyable to play. The duets grew out of Gerhard Bergauer's practical teaching experience, with the aim of encouraging young percussionists to discover classical percussion instruments. At the same time, the pieces develop ensemble playing, timing and musical communication. The pieces can easily be integrated into lessons and are suitable for sight-reading practice as well as concerts, recitals, examinations and competitions. A practical collection that brings drumset and timpani together in an entertaining way. Gerhard Bergauer
