But it would take over 50 years before it reached the top of Billboard's list with a 'dance' version made by Freischwimmer (2016). In 1965, it was recorded by Barry McGuire and with 'The Mamas and The Papas' members as a backing group, but it was only when they recorded it themselves that the first success came through. It has since lived in a number of recordings ranging from Jazz to Country and has also been song tracks in a lot of movies.
