Description:
The Lights of a Peaceful Village is a genuine Norwegian Christmas classic. Jakob Sande wrote the poem in 1931, and it was first published in the Christmas magazine 'Christmas in Sunnfjord' under the title 'Christmas Eve'. The poem has been set to several melodies, but the most well-known is by Lars Søraas d.y. This version recieved it's first performance during Christmas 1944 by Søraas' students from Sydneshaugen School.
