This is another "fun-to-play" arrangement in the popular Flex-5 series SHOWBLOW, with 5 flexible instrumental parts for wind instruments, and additional parts for drums, piano and bass guitar (with chords).
Functionally and well-arranged in a mid-tempo swing style with challenges in every instrumental part.
Suggestions: Instrumental Part 1 and Part 4 have ad.lib solos (with chords), which can be played as written, but feel free to improvise.
My Blue Heaven was written in 1924, but the success came when the crooner Gene Austin released the song in 1927. His record sold over five million copies and became the biggest-selling record of the Twenties. The song has been covered by a very big number of artists, included The Platters, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Glenn Miller, Fats Domino, James Taylor, Cliff Richard & The Shadows.
A timeless classic that will be successful in almost any concert program!
