Description:
This song was written by irving Berlin in 1929 and featured in the Puttin' on the Ritz movie the year after. The song is recorded by some of the greatest artists of all time, including Benny Goodman, Ella Fitzgerald and Fred Astaire. A pop-synth version is also made, performed by the band Taco in 1982. The title is taken from the term 'Putting on the Ritz' which means to be well-dressed. The expression is inspired by the luxury-hotel brand Ritz.
