Description:
Rock City is a small village in the US state of Illinois, located in Stephenson County. It has only a few hundred inhabitants and is growing very slowly. Nevertheless, the name immediately evokes associations of energy, rhythm and drive - exactly what you hear in this piece of music.
Rock City is an ideal work for a beginner's orchestra to get to know the world of rock music. The catchy style and powerful rhythm immediately invite you to make music together and work through the piece step by step. Rock music requires a clear pulse, good timing and, above all, the courage to groove together. When rehearsing this piece, we learn as an orchestra how important it is to play together precisely, to pay attention to rhythm and dynamics and to give the music a self-confident sound. Every instrument contributes to the overall sound - just like in a real rock band.
Rock City is not only instructive, but above all a rousing piece to play and listen to.
