Description:
This edition of Mozart's "Serenades" (volumes 1-4) is intended to encourage musicians to experiment with sound: The tercets can be played in various formations with almost all instruments (strings, basses, piano) that are common in today's house music. This is entirely in keeping with their genesis. Mozart composed the five wind divertimenti at a time when he was experimenting with sound combinations.
Instruments were exchanged when making music with friends and new combinations were constantly being created. And so the "Serenades" still lend themselves today to playing with different timbres and instrumentations, as an extremely rewarding object of experimentation and musical imagination.
