Description:
This beautiful song was already a great hit in Japan before its American debut in
1963, under the alternative title Sukiyaki. The most famous English-language cover version is by the pop group A Taste of Honey in 1980.
In this arrangement the well-known melody is presented by the different instrument parts, as it goes from a slowly intro into a faster 2-beats tempo with a
slightly swing feel.
The arrangement is for flexible instrumentation in the popular series SHOWBLOW, and it can therefore be played by a clean or mixed quintet, but
also by a full brass/concert band.
