I wrote these *Six Pensées pour guitare*—short, tonal, and musically appealing pieces—to fill a gap in the repertoire. They are suitable for the 2nd and 3rd cycles at the conservatory. 1.\tÉtude in F (on range) — A piece that helps illustrate and commit to memory the entire fretboard across the guitar’s 19 frets. 2. Étude (on barre chords) — A study of arpeggios and barre chords up to the 10th fret, designed to strengthen the tendons of the arm and left hand. 3. Medit — A piece that evokes the seven vital energy centers of the human body, the chakras. 4. Petite pensée suspendue — A very melodic, slow piece. In these two pieces (the 3rd and 4th), the fingering was deliberately left unnotated so that students in the 2nd and 3rd cycles can sight-read them independently in preparation for their transition exams and determine their own fingering. 5. Athena 6. Arachné These last two pieces were inspired by my impressions while reading mythology.
