Description:
My experience as a classical guitar teacher at a conservatory has shown me that students enjoy exploring contemporary styles of music—jazz, popular music, Brazilian music, and more. The blues, with its relatively simple basic rhythmic structure and its deep melodic expressive power, is particularly appealing to young beginner guitarists.
So, in order to introduce this musical style from the very first years of study in my class, I took pleasure in writing blues pieces and compiling them into a collection of 11 works with an accompaniment for a second guitar. The pieces progress gradually in difficulty and introduce a variety of keys and rhythms, creating different atmospheres. The proposed accompaniments are also well suited to an introduction to improvisation. Fostering creativity, composition, and a certain freedom in instrumental practice has long been close to my heart.
