Description:
The 18 Basses dances from the pharmacy of the Parisian publisher Pierre Attaingnant are the oldest lute works printed in France. They were published in 1529 and can be regarded as an important source for research into French musical practice at the beginning of the 16th century.
This publication is a collection of different dances for the lute, which, judging by the different way of intavolation, come from at least two, if not more, lute masters.
