Description:
Cover illustration by Robert Ecoiffier. Editing and fingering by Augustin Pesnon. The charms of Adrien Politi's melodies are well known to our young guitarists: an apparent simplicity that makes them a key asset in our missions of teaching and transmission. Here, the work is magnified by his love of the guitar. This composition is a highly pedagogical piece of music, which happily underlines some of the technical objectives essential for the end of Cycle 2: polyphony, legato, arpeggios, thirds and sixths, 4- and 5-note chords, high positions and bars.1. Romance:A dreamy theme with arpeggios. Easily accessible for a Cycle 2 beginner, connoisseurs will appreciate the polyphonic work and the beginnings of thirds and sixths.2. Musette :A lively musical moment. Rhythm is paramount. Right-hand work is approached through the equal sound of repeating fingers. The first 3-tone chords emerge in a few well-advised shuffles at the end of cycle 2.3. Elegy:This 3rd movement is reserved for advanced students or those in cycle 3. If the first part offers a lento of profound melancholy, the second exposes a lively and subtle tremolo.4. Arabesque:A veritable hymn to guitar pedagogy, this theme is a joy to remember. Cycle 2 students will need to make good use of the buté in the monodic passages, and carefully respect the fingering of the right hand to bring out the melodic lines. The composer's text is effective: like a musical tale, the musician is led through an arboretum of sensations, which will undoubtedly find a place of choice with our students.Augustin Pesnon
