Description:
The studies and exercises collected in this volume are particularly aimed at modern lutenists and guitarists who have decided to devote themselves to the theorbo.
We tried to deal with the different performance techniques, such as the use of bells, drones, drags, tied sounds, paying attention to growing in the student an awareness linked to the coordination of the left and right hands.
Constructive use of the metronome is recommended to monitor rhythmic accuracy and progress in acquiring greater fluency and playing speed. It is also advisable to be very rigorous in the use of the dynamics indicated.
Some technical exercises are also reported in the edition in real heights to accustom the student to reading on the staff and to encourage the memorization of the fingerings studied in the tabbed version of the same exercise.
The exercises transcribed on the staff also allow you to be able to practice other performance techniques of the right hand than those proposed in tablature and then be able to choose the one most suited to musical writing.
The primary objective remains the search for an in-depth knowledge of the theorbo keyboard.
