Johann Sebastian Bach

Suite BWV 997

The works dedicated by Johann Sebastian Bach to the lute and the Lautenwerk (BWV 995, 996, 997, 998, 999, 1000 and 1006/a) have long since become part of the guitar repertoire and remain a cornerstone in the study programs of conservatories and academies of specialization all over the world, recognizing this music of absolute value as a very important weight in the formation of the modern musician and guitarist.
The intent of this transcription for guitar is to provide a didactic aid that – faithfully reporting signs of articulation, ligatures, agogics and embellishments present in the manuscripts – offers at the same time suggestions regarding their realization and proposes a functional fingering for both hands.
