Description:
Johann Kaspar Mertz would have turned 190 in 1996. The 'Variations mignonnes' and the 'Capriccio' are part of a collection of 15 volumes which Mertz compiled and called Bardenklänge. They contain an extensive collection of romantic character pieces. The Nocturne has been taken from another source. The compositions presented in this book do not make great technical demands, and they serve as an introduction into the composer's oeuvre. At the same time, they reflect the guitar repertoire of his time.
