Though "Silent Night" has been arranged for band many times before, this unique setting by Rick Kirby, now tremendous transcribed for fanfare band by Steven Verhaert, deserves special attention. A soprano saxophone solo accompanied by piano (cued for vibraphone) sets the stage for an impressive rhapsodic approach that includes lush full ensemble passages with harmonic twists, solos for alto saxophone, flugel horn and euphonium. This beautiful rendering ends with the band singing "Silent Night" in unison. Sure to become a holiday highlight.
