Description:
The Dutch trumpet player and conductor Erik Waerts (Zaandam, 1960) studied the trumpet at the Amsterdam Sweelinck Conservatory of Music and wind band conducting with Danny Oosterman. For the moment he is teaching the trumpet and also conducts several bands and orchestras. These experiences provide him with a lot of practical impressions concerning the interests and knowledge of the young musicians. With these impressions in mind, he writes quite some music with an educational goal and accessible to young musicians. The tune of the 'Ferry March' was born while the composer helped some young children to cross a busy road
