Description:
The zeppelin airship 'Hindenburg', named after the German Reich President Paul von Hindenburg, was one of the largest airships ever built. The maiden voyage of the airship was in March 1936, but on May 6, 1937 it was destroyed during landing in Lakehurst New Jersey (America), when the hydrogen filling caught fire. 36 people including a member of the landing party lost their lives. There are various theories about how this accident might have occurred.
