Description:
Gioacchino Rossini is primarily known for his Opera's, but also composed for other forces like this Introduction, Theme, and Variations for Clarinet and Orchestra. It is generally believed that Rossini composed this work as a student project at the Bologna Conservatory of Music when he was very young. It's based on two of Rossini's most moving dramatic arias and remains one of the most popular virtuosic works for clarinet to this day. Dutch arranger Rens van Leeuwen transcribed this work for Solo Clarinet with accompaniment of a Fanfare Band.
