Description:
'Die Zauberflöte' isn't a romantic love story but a real parable: a resemblance about higher human striving to purity and self-improvement. Not love between two people is in the centre but a more individual and higher form of it that should exist between all people. The comic duet 'Pa pa pa' is placed at the very end of the opera: Papageno and Papagena are reunited, despite Papageno's failure to maintain silence, one of the trials he had to undergo to be accepted into the brotherhood of the temple.
