Description:
Many people know these 11 melodies from their childhood. My father and mother often sang some of them to me to put me to sleep. Incidentally, not all of them originated in Switzerland. Some of the lyrics have been "Helvetized". This arrangement is designed as a suite. The numbers can also be played individually. Performers are free to change the language, sing additional verses or shorten the pieces if the suite is performed without vocals. Any transposition is permitted. Since such an arrangement for trio gives the arranger little leeway to allow the players breaks, it is perfectly possible to perform the piece as a sextet. Performed with vocals, the instrument leading the melody can occasionally pause.
