Description:
Eberhard Egermann's 2 sacred concertos belong to the genre of modern church music for everyday use, which will not cause any problems of comprehension for the audience. The first (Praise the Lord, my soul") belongs to a joyful, festive occasion. The second concerto ("Oh, have you not heard") touches on a more introverted area. The technical difficulties of the vocal and violin parts are kept within limits; the same can be said of the organ part, which can also be performed by a harpsichord." (Musik und Gottesdienst, 1/2002)
