Description:
Three ragtimes and a samba, hence "3R1S," are 4 miniatures from the first volume of the violin method op. 26 in a version for 3 clarinets, violin, cello and piano. They were written for two families of musicians, Koncz and Ottensamer, for a performance at the Vienna Musikverein. They differ from the original miniatures for 2 violins in harmonic matters, in form and duration. They constitute a new composition based on older material.
