Description:
A Spider’s Tapestry sets a poem by Miranda Latham-Jackson about Arachne, the skilled young weaver in Greek mythology who was turned into a spider by the goddess Athena. The five minute work is scored for a solo quartet of singers (the voice of Arachne herself), SATB choir and saxophone quartet (whose music often depicts the animals featured in Arachne’s vibrant tapestries).
