As Moussorgski's Pictures at an Exhibition, Au clair d'un croissant is made up of four movements linked by a series of walks on a theme. Based on a memory from my childhood, this theme comes more exactly from a phrase from Au clair de la lune, the first homophonic melody I learned on the piano. The instrumentalists sometimes use toys or musical initiation instruments. This playful suite wants to give the listener a feeling of lucid dreaming in a nostalgic setting.
