Adventskantate zu Jesaja 9,1-4 für 4-stg. gem. Chor und Instrumente (Fl, Ob, Vln, Va Vc, Fag und Tasteninstr.) oder Klavier. Text: Eugen Eckert. AD ca. 10 Min. - Die Kombination aus Bibelzitat und neuer Dichtung versteht Eugen Eckert hervorragend zu verbinden. Er schafft daraus einen Kantatentext, der sprachgewaltig ist, Stellung bezieht und den Advent neu beleuchtet. Kongenial ist die Vertonung von Hartmut Bietz, die den Chor in verschiedenen Aufgaben zeigt und in jedem der acht Kantatensätze auf stets treffende Textausdeutung baut, ohne die musikalische Relevanz aus den Augen zu verlieren. Dabei ist das Werk nicht schwer auszuführen, der Chor wird in der Regel durch die Instrumente gestützt, die in den rein instrumentalen Stellen dann aber auch eine zielgerichtete Selbständigkeit entfalten.
