Description:
With "Flood and Drought", Bosworth Music presents a captivating and sonically powerful chamber work that translates the extreme natural forces of flood and drought into a thrilling musical dialogue. The extraordinary instrumentation for mandolin and classic string quartet (two violins, viola, and cello) opens up entirely new soundscapes: delicate, shimmering, and virtuosic mandolin textures merge masterfully with the warm depth and dramatic intensity of the strings. This impressive piece was commissioned by the prestigious Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, where it celebrated its acclaimed world premiere on July 7, 2017. Including the complete score and set of parts, this edition offers ambitious ensembles a wonderful opportunity to enrich their concert repertoire with a modern, emotionally charged masterpiece.
