Description:
The motet for two four-part choirs (SSAT and ATBB) by Sweelinck's pupil Samuel Scheidt (1587-1654) sounds particularly magnificent thanks to the alternation of high and low choir. The homophonic verses of the well-known Christmas carol "In dulci jubilo" are repeatedly interrupted by strongly imitative sections. Scheidt's motet is therefore perfect for all choirs who want to perform something special in their Christmas concert alongside the traditional movements.
