*L'aube franchie* is a cycle of six songs for tenor, trumpet (in C), and piano, composed based on the poetry collection of the same name by Elisabeth Oulès (2012) and dedicated to the poet. In its six scenes—La déchirure de l’aube, L’aube levée, Abrupt l’horizon, Tenter le vide, Tel or de forge, and Nuit—the work follows a poetic, introspective path, from the breaking of day to the shadows of night. Here, Ivan Jevtić unfolds a decidedly contemporary, expressive, and sophisticated musical language. The deeply lyrical tenor voice enters into dialogue with the trumpet—at times radiant, at times intimate (muted effects, flutter tongue) — while the piano weaves a dense and virtuosic tapestry of sextuplet runs, trills, and richly colored sounds. Each song has its own atmosphere, from the incisive "Rustico" of the first to the lively "Scherzoso" of "Tel or de forge," through the veiled "Misterioso" of "L’aube levée." Combining dramatic intensity with refined composition, this cycle offers its three performers a true recital piece in which the expressive power of the poetry finds a musical echo of great richness.
