A. Bembo schuf in Paris eine überwältigende Vielzahl an Musik unter der Förderung Ludwigs XIV., u. a., die sieben ?éBusspsalmen', eine Vertonung von Psalm-Paraphrasen in französischer Sprache, die Elisabeth-Sophie Chéron (1648-1711) gedichtet hat. Jeder Psalm hat sein eigenes Gesicht und wenn von Psalm zu Psalm die Solostimmen wechseln, so sind als instrumentale Begleitung immer zwei Melodieinstrumente und natürlich das Continuo dabei.
