Description:
Gabriel Verdalle (1845-approx. 1915) composed stunning and romantic works for his instrument, remembering sometimes to Satie. The Meditation was originally called Adagio and was renamed by him before publication in 1898. He dedicated the work to his colleague Auguste Berthelier, solo cellist at the Opera. It is now Verdalles most played work.
