Description:
Experience a radiant and uplifting sacred masterpiece with the festive cantata "Mache dich auf, werde licht" ("Arise, shine, for your light has come"). Based on the profound biblical prophecy from Isaiah 60:1–3, this composition unfolds a luminous message of hope that will deeply move both performers and audiences alike.
The work is masterfully scored for a rich low solo voice (bass), four-part mixed choir (SATB), two violins, and basso continuo. The expressive interplay between the bass solo, resonant choral passages, and lively string accompaniment gives the cantata a distinct warmth and solemnity—making it an ideal choice for Epiphany, Advent, and festive sacred concerts. This high-quality full score from Edition Merseburger provides choirs and ensembles with the perfect foundation for an inspiring performance.
