Description:
The Harmoniemesse is the last of the "High Masses" composed in the years 1796-1802 for the name day of Princess Esterházy and at the same time Haydn's last completed composition. It was given its name because of the important "harmony-filling" role played by the obbligato wind parts. This critical edition deviates from previous editions in some places, thus following other readings of the sources and is therefore also intended as a contribution to a reassessment of the work.
