Description:
Johann Christoph Frauenholtz was baptized in Ahorn (near Coburg) in 1684. Some of his cantatas were first performed in Strasbourg in 1713, and Frauenholtz was active there as Kapellmeister from 1714. His entire oeuvre comprises around 100 cantatas and motets, some of which are considered lost.
Sven Dierke, a church musician from Düsseldorf, found this beautiful cantata in the archives of the Badische Landesbibliothek and re-edited it for this edition according to scholarly principles.
