The piano trio "Sotto Voce" was composed in 2023 by Victor Kissine for Gidon Kremer, Giedré Dirvanauskaité and Geogijs Osokins, to whom it is also dedicated. The present and the past (a "narrative memory") of their friendship and exchange of creative experiences, Gidon Kremer's own style (not only musical, but also literary) and their shared enthusiasm for Franz Schubert served as inspiration for Kissine to write this trio.
He envisioned "Sotto Voce" as a kind of diary whose pages can be turned back and forth, so that its story unfolds in the now and elsewhere in the shadows of time.
