Description:
This collection continues the "Pieces for Speaking Choir" on a new stylistic level. After a series of pictorial speech studies based on his own texts, there is a Latin poem from Virgil's entourage and seven poems by Bert Brecht. With the arrangement of these poems, which, according to Orff, can neither be sung nor spoken in the usual manner, but must be interpreted, the composer realises his basic intention of bringing the music into the language without suspending its autonomy.
