The Frog's Desire

A short humorous entertainment for a solo singer of either sex, accompanied by a bassoon (or two).

This song is about a frog,
Sitting (of course) on a log.
She/He is a solitary frog,
looking for a boy/girl frog.

She's/He's waiting for a date,
Chances aren't great,
You hope they don't get legless
and arrive on a plate,

So to while away the wait,
in a voice that croaks her/his fate
She/He sings of her/his dream tête à tête:

I'm hoping for a ...
Please let him/her come soon.
We would have a ...
Underneath the moon.

Just a little ...
lasting from dusk till dawn,
and then wha'd ya know?
Hey presto: frog-spawn!
