Description:
This 'Trio Ballad' begins with constantly insistent, rapid sextuplets. The clarinet is a kind of an airhead (of all trades) and the viola is a type of demon. The piano provides a foundation for the others, framing and urging on the dance-tune aspects. Thus distortions arise at the end (rigido, rabbioso, maestoso...) - also of the traditional tuning. Every morning my inner point of departure was Brahms's Piano Ballads, Op. 10. But the approximately eleven-minute, one-movement piece turned out completely differently.'
