Richard Lane composed this second trio for viola, B-flat clarinet and piano in 1981 at my request, as I had an excellent chamber music class at Queensborough Community College at the time. The premiere took place there in the 1980s. Myron Rosenblum It is a very representative work of Richard Lane's musical output: elegant phrasing, subtle harmonic structures and impressive flexibility of musical flow.
