Description:
On a composer-in-residence scholarship, one day my fellow scholar, the writer ndreas Jungwirth, came up to
me and said, „I have a story about a bird. Are you interested in writing a piece for the
speaker and orchestra / ensemble?“ I liked this idea. The story was interesting, humorous
and fresh. So it came to this piece: „What is it – life?“ Written as if the bird had written
it himself, for children from 10 years and adults.
The piece has 15 movements with a duration of 50 minutes. There is an arrangement for
speakers with orchestra (Beethoven double cast) and for speakers with instrumental ensemble.
