Description:
An adaptation of the story The Bremen Town Musicians by the Brothers Grimm. This version can be used to introduce young listeners to the best-known musical instruments, or it can simply be performed as a musical narrative. The text was written by the composer and was deliberately kept simple. The narrator is free to embellish it as long as the main events depicted in the music are respected. In particular, the passages relating to the individual instruments can be expanded or - depending on the aim of the performance - omitted altogether, depending on whether the performance is intended to be more of an instrumental or purely musical narrative. In the first (narrative) part of the work, an amplified acoustic guitar is optionally used as an accompanying instrument. In the final tango and swing, in which the donkey's band actually performs, the guitarist switches to electric guitar and takes on an important solo part in the final swing.
