In 1963, the Irish composer Sean ORiada left Dublin and settled in Cul Aodha, west Cork in order to immerse himself in the Irish language and native musical forms. It was here that he composed a setting of The Mass for Chór Cúl Aodha (Coolea Choir) which included the now-popular song Ag Criost an Siol.
