2 Flutes (optional), 2 Oboes (or Flutes or Clarinets or Alto saxophones), 2 Clarinets in Bb (optional), Bassoon (doubles the cello), 2 Horns in F (optional)
Strings (Violin 1, Violin 2, Viola, Cello/Bass)
This work, originally for two oboes and strings, can be performed in the original fashion or with flutes, clarinets or saxophones replacing the oboes. The other instruments may be included to thicken the texture!
