Description:
The Munich court conductor Aiblinger is considered one of the leading composers in Munich in the first half of the 19th century. Musically trained mainly in Italy, he showed a preference for cantabile melodies and an early Romantic sense of sound, particularly in his vocal compositions. His offertory, printed here for the first time, combines both elements to great effect. The choral writing, which is very easy to sing, serves as the tonal basis for the subtly elaborated soloist quartet. Strings and organ suffice as accompaniment. With its call to worship, the work, which is part of the Christmas festive cycle, can also be used in a variety of ways outside of the Christmas season. With Latin and German text.
The score is copy-protected for single copies. This only does not apply if the choral score is purchased at the same time as the orchestral material.
