Johann Nepomuk Hummel's trumpet concerto, which has been a firm fixture in the repertoire since the late 1960s, was written for the Viennese virtuoso on the keyed trumpet Anton Weidinger (1766-1852), to whom Haydn dedicated his concerto in 1796.
