In Greek mythology, Hypnos is the God of sleep.I composed this symphonic work between 2014 and 2018. Commissioned by Constantin Rouits and the Orchestre de l'Opéra de Massy, this composition is inspired by the sensation of somnolence, that strange moment between dream and reality, hence the title of the first movement: "Aux portes du sommeil". A stubbornly repeated chord evokes this state, and recurs in different forms throughout the piece, which is divided into four parts and an interlude. The piece lasts 14 minutes. Matthieu Steffanelli
