Description:
The present piano reduction by Günter Raphael was published together with the source-critical new edition of the complete performance material. The editor Gerd Sievers reverted to the original score (partly autograph, partly by copyist's hand and corrected by Bach). The division into a total of 68 vocal numbers deviates from the numbering of the New Bach Edition. The 40 numbers counted there are added in the table of contents for orientation.
