Description:
This volume contains three fragments from different creative periods in Schoenberg's life as a composer: the Serenade in D major for small orchestra (1896), the symphonic poem Death of Spring based on a poem by Nikolaus Lenau (1898) and a work written almost 50 years later with the title Fanfare for a Bowl Concert on motifs of the Gurrelieder for brass instruments and percussion (1945). The Serenade in D major and Death of Spring are published here for the first time.
